Interprofessional Collaboration

Interprofessional classes are included in the mandatory curriculum for medical, pharmacy, laboratory medicine, and nursing students. Interprofessional classes are conducted on the mandatory course curriculum. These workshops tackle issues such as the distribution of competencies, conflicts arising in the team or stereotypes, and a practical part in the Medical Simulation Centre of PUMS. Students work in mixed groups, each including all of the specialities. Simulation workshops are also constructed to include various future medical professionals actively.

These classes have been conducted since the 2023/2024 academic year for Medicine, Pharmacy and Laboratory Medicine students. From the academic year 2024/2025 onwards, they are also directed towards nursing students.

Around 600 students were involved in this course during the first edition of interprofessional classes. Around 700 students are expected to complete those classes in 2024/2025.

Our academic staff is an interprofessional team consisting of various medical specialities, all actively working in their respective fields.
